Obituary of Sean N. Rogers
Sean N. Rogers passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2023. Sean was born on May 21, 2002. Sean is survived by his parents, Frank Rogers, Jr., of Danielson, CT and Erica Nurmi Rogers of Putnam, CT; brothers Kevin Waszkiewicz (and wife Avery) of Stafford Springs, CT and Zachory Nurmi (and wife Dee) of Missoula, MT; his beloved grandparents Ken and Cathy Nurmi of Sterling, CT, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sean was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Frank and Donna Rogers, beloved friend Todd “T.J.” Allen, and his lifetime companion and family friend “Tank”.
Sean was born in Putnam, CT and raised in Sterling, CT, attending Sterling Memorial School and Plainfield High School. He was a free-spirited, creative soul and a passionate and loyal family man and friend. He had a passion for music and playing guitar. A gifted natural, he honed his skill over the years and had the privilege of playing with the band “Red Light” on many occasions. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes, bonfires with family and friends, and spending time with his family. He was a proactive volunteer for the organization, End Hunger, New England, also known as “Kids Care” at St. John Lutheran Church, which assists families in our community. Although his time on Earth was brief, he leaves a beautiful legacy of service to others.
There will be a celebration of Sean’s life at the Putnam Lodge of Elks, 64 Edmond Street, Putnam, CT from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday April 29, 2023. All whose lives were touched by Sean are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Endhungerne.org/#donate (please put Sean’s name in the notes) or to a charity of your choice.
