My wife Susan and I were very saddened indeed to have learned of this sad news. Helen and her late husband were the first neighbors to welcome me back in 1995 when I started construction of our home. In her later years, she would walk, then of necessity, be pushed along in her wheelchair along our bucolic West Quasset Road. She always had a smile and a wave. I had the honor of being her “chauffeur” (in our open air four wheel drive Polaris) during her participation in our neighborhood “Christmas Crawl” (caroling and eating…and drinking from house to house) - which she thoroughly enjoyed (not the drinking, but rather, the merriment and friendship of neighbors, despite the freezing temperatures.
I shall remember her fondly as a woman of intellect, grace, beauty and charm.
To her surviving children and family, our heartfelt condolences. May her memory be a blessing.
