Obituary of Susan L. Chartier

Susan L. Chartier, 73 of East Killingly died Thursday, June 1, 2023 at her home. She was the beloved daughter of the late Albert L. and Jennie (Olearos) Chartier. She was born January 25, 1950 in Putnam. 
Susan was a member of the Danielson Lodge of Elks #1706, East Killingly VFW Post 4908 and Old Iron Tractor Club in Woodstock, CT. She was an equestrian and enjoyed riding her Harley. Susan was an avid cook and baker and won many blue ribbons at the Woodstock Fair. She was a collector of many antiques, enjoyed kayaking, fishing and flea marketing. 
In 2017, Susan retired from the University of Connecticut after 35 years of dedicated service to the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources Dean's Office.
She leaves her siblings Allen Chartier and his wife Nancy of East Killingly, Tom Chartier and his wife Sandy of East Killingly, Carolyn Chartier and her husband Peter Normandie of Woodstock, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends. She also leaves her dogs Carly and Bobbie Jo and horses Ivy and Turbo.
Calling hours will be Monday, June 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. James Church 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT on Thursday, July 13 at 11:00 AM, burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
