Obituary of David A. Bushey

Thompson - David A. Bushey 69, of Thompson passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023, after a courageous battle with an illness. He was the beloved  husband of 38 years to the late Joyce Bushey, who passed away in April of this year. He was born on February 7, 1954 in Putnam, son of the late Bernard and Elsie (Shippee) Bushey. 

David was extremely dedicated to his wife Joyce and always enjoyed her family's get-togethers. He was a Corrections Officer for the State of Connecticut for 20 years and an all-around handyman. He enjoyed fishing and was a lover of nature and loved all dogs especially his own dog D.J. He was often called the "dog whisperer".  He was a good brother and enjoyed his phone calls with his brother Don in Texas over the years.  David was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed. 

He leaves his brother Donald Bushey and his wife Kristie of Fort Worth, TX and is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Steven Bushey and Allan Bushey.

A graveside service will be Friday, July 14, 2023 at 2 PM in Munyan Cemetery, Putnam, CT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, I-91 Tech Ctr. Rocky Hill, CT 06067. Share a memory at Smithandwalkerfh.com
