Obituary of Gabriel R. Pellitier
Gabriel R. Pellitier, Jr., 91, of Brooklyn, CT died Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Pierce Memorial Nursing Home in Brooklyn, CT. He was born on November 1, 1931 in Windham, CT, son of the late Gabriel and Victoria (Corona) Pellitier, Sr. He married Shirley (Harrington) Pellitier on April 7, 1956 at Our Lady of LaSalette Church in Brooklyn, CT, she died on November 6, 1995.
Gabriel served in Korea with Company L, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division as a Infantryman. Awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, United Nations Service Medal, Republic of Korea War Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge and 2 Overseas Service Bars. He was Honorable Discharged in 1954. Gabriel was a Communicant of St. James Church, a member of the American Legion Post 21 and a member of Roy’s Boys in Willimantic, CT. He worked as a Caster for American Standard for 31 years and later for Peerless Door and Window and retired in 2000. Gabriel was an avid New York Yankees fan.
He leaves his dear companion Andrea Sherman; his daughter Patricia Jablonski and her husband John; his grandchildren David Jablonski (Kristen), Michael Jablonski (Cariann) and Kathryn Jablonski (George); his great granddaughters Emilia and Rylie. Also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley Pellitier; his son Thomas Pellitier; his brother Joseph Pellitier; his sisters Sarah Martineau and Margaret Millette. The family would like to thank Pierce Memorial Baptist Home and the staff for their exceptional care and compassion.
