Obituary of James D. Adams

James D. Adams 75, of Rogers, died Saturday August 26, 2023 at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. Beloved husband of Helen (Niznick) Adams for 51 years. He was born in Lakewood, Ohio on March 31, 1948, son of the late Garlton and Doris (Kuhrt) Adams.

James joined the Navy and was stationed in Newport, RI during the Vietnam War, he served as a Marine Mechanic. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree from Roger Williams University. He worked as a Maintenance Mechanic for Electric Boat and Roger Williams University. James enjoyed clowning, fishing traveling and showing dogs. He was a Mason at the Moriah Lodge No. 15 A.F & A.M. in Brooklyn, a Sphinx Shrine member, member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Providence. James was a member of the Morris & Essex Kennel Club and Silky Terrier Club of America. 

He leaves his wife Helen Adams, siblings David Adams of Wellington, OH, Jane O’ Donnell of Lakewood, OH, Kathleen Neffenger of Phoenix, AZ. He will be greatly missed by his beloved dogs Indy and Donnie.

Funeral will be Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home 33 Reynolds, Danielson, CT, calling hours will be from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors at 1:00 PM at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI.
