Obituary of Beatrice H. Gumula

Beatrice H. Gumula, 82, of Brooklyn, CT died Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. She was born on February 17, 1941 in Putnam, CT daughter of the late Raymond and Claire (Poitras) Veilleux.  She was the beloved wife of Edward C. Gumula, Sr. they were married in 1960.

Beatrice was a Communicant of St. James Church. She loved her family, whether it was vacations with her husband or spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She also enjoyed shopping, swimming and cooking. Beatrice worked for Connecticut Bank and Trust as a Teller and after 47 years in banking retired as Head Teller with Jewett City Savings Bank. She also worked at Sharpe Hill Vineyard.

She leaves her husband Edward C. Gumula, Sr. of Brooklyn, CT; her daughter Debra Gumula and her husband Richard Burris of Brooklyn, CT; her son Edward C. Gumula, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Brooklyn, CT; her grandchildren Adam (Jackie), Nick (Tayler), Heather (Brad), Kyle (Brandon), Haley (Daniel), Dustin (Ashley) and Samantha; her great grandchildren Nora, Julian, Amelia, Natasha, Anyah, Omar, Kazen and Arthur; her siblings Arlene, Linda and Raymond (Sharon).

She was predeceased by her sister Elaine Dessert; her brother-in-law Clayton Hooper and her grandson Matthew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson, CT. Share a memory at www.gagnonandcostellofh.com
