We have very often thought of Mr. McCoy, even though we moved to New Hampshire 10 years ago. We and several of our kids who went to MAK for years have such wonderful memories of him. Stephen and Michael remember jumping over mountains of pads, his pose with our youngest, Abigail, looking like she landed a kick to his stomach. His facial expression was hilarious. My husband and I remember how he encouraged and inspired us to work hard, and we got our Black belts when we were in our 50’s! He was so considerate, he contacted our former instructor to come watch as we finally got our belts.
Anne, I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you in my prayers. I know Jesus never leaves us nor forsakes us. I pray for his love for you will be a comfort in this sad time.
Scott, Karen, Stephen, Michael, Nathaniel, and Abigail Hackett

I'm so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. He was a good friend to me at Culver. We rowed together, he sat behind me, forward in the boat. We worked out together, he helped me get back on track in physics when I self paced myself into an F and he helped bring my spirits up when I was down. He was a wonderful person, very giving. I am better person for having known him, he's someone I will never forget.

Paul was a classmate and close friend at Culver. We were roommates our sophomore year in Battery C. He had an old (new back then!) Panasonic cassette tape player. We only had one tape. If I heard Dinkin Duncan once, I heard it a thousand times! He was taking German and I was taking Spanish. At night as we laid in bed after lights out he would tell me words in German and I tried to figure out what the word was. Our senior year we lived across the hall from each other. We ran many miles together back when that was possible. I am so thankful we reconnected these past years through FB. Deepest condolences to all who love him.

Like Tom and Beau, I was a classmate of Paul’s at Culver. He was such a nice guy, always positive, and optimistic and just a pleasure to be around. He left a positive mark on all of us who knew him at Culver.

So saddened to hear of Paul's passing. I had the pleasure of being Paul's freshman roommate at Culver as well as competing on the wrestling and crew teams together. Ultimately, we graduated together in 79. Paul had charm, character, and determination that was enduring. As two struggling academicians, no one was more delighted than I to see that Paul ultimately obtained a PHD. I would have loved to have been able to refer to him as "Doctor" McCoy. I will miss you my friend.

From before the age of 2 I have attended the studio as an audience member and a student. Growing as a martial artist and achieving 3 different ranks of black belt, is all thanks to this man. Learning how to be patient and humble, while displaying love and respect for everyone is a part of me that resonates with the McCoy family and in all of their students. I will always be thankful for the lessons and time spent with Paul McCoy and will cherish his stories through out my life. The Lord is with you and your spirit and will reward others who love one another. Thank you Sensei. With love, Lana Antocci
