Obituary of Gay K. Choiniere

Gay Katherine Barker Choiniere went home to be with her Lord and Savior December 6th, 2023. She was born December 17th, 1939 in New Haven, CT to George and Adaline (Teft) Barker. She was predeceased by a brother Quentin Barker, a sister Elaine Judd, her twin George Kermit Barker, a sister Thelma Barker, and a brother Ian Barker. She is survived by her brother Richard Barker of Thompson, her two daughters Kathleen (Choiniere) Matson and husband Gideon Matson of Brooklyn, CT and Theresa (Choiniere) and Kevin Walsh of Thompson, CT. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Aimee, Kevin and his wife Julie, Emily and her husband Nathan Stude, Sarah, Timothy, and her 7 great grandchildren: Zak, Seyona, Dealan, Joseph, Emma, Scarlet, and Liam. She loved them dearly and would do anything for them. She enjoyed feeding her birds and tending to her flower gardens, but one of her greatest passions was world missions. She supported missionaries and sponsored children through school from the Philippines to Africa to South America for 60 years. She gave sacrificially so the good news of Jesus Christ could be spread around the world. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Harvest of Hope Africa through DeedraShilliday.com. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
