Obituary of Ruth E. Connelly

Ruth Emilie Connelly passed away on January 9, 2024 at 102 years old. She resided at Christopher Heights of Webster, MA her loving home for 12 years. Ruth was born on July 16, 1921 in Pirmasens, Germany to Hugo and Susan (Bayerle) Feldmueller. She immigrated to the United States of America as a child. She married the love of her life Thomas J. Connelly in 1941 and had a wonderful life together until his passing in 1996.

Ruth had a wide variety of interests and was an avid reader, talented baker and enjoyed making crocheted afghans for family and friends, crocheting well into her 90’s. Ruth loved to travel and she and her husband traveled across the United States and Canada twice camping along the way.

Ruth leaves behind her children: Timothy Connelly (Patricia) of Manchester, CT and Susan Connelly Eddy (Ross) of Woodstock, CT. Grandchildren: Christopher S. Connelly, Jessica N. Connelly, Rebecca Murphy (Sean), Jonathan R. Eddy (Sarah) and Julia Eddy along with three great grandchildren.

Ruth’s abiding legacy is one of love. She will be greatly missed and carried in her family’s hearts forever.

A Calling Hour will be Friday, January 26, 2024 from 11:00 to 12:00 PM at Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT, burial will be private in the spring at Elmvale Cemetery. Share a memory at Smithandwalkerfh.com
