Obituary of Valerie Jane Ietto

Valerie Jane Ietto, 70, of Woodstock died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at her home in Woodstock.  She was born in Englewood, New Jersey, on November 19, 1953, daughter of the late Valerio and Dorothy (Cardino) Ietto.

Valerie attended Annhurst College in Woodstock.  She loved the area so much that she made it her home.  Valerie was the President of the New Roxbury Land Trust, of which she was very passionate.  She was a past member of the Woodstock Garden Club, and was proud of her time as a Literacy Volunteer.  Valerie loved collecting recipes and was a ‘spirited debater.’  

She leaves her brother, John and his wife Eileen, her sister, Patricia and her brother, Frank and his wife Elaine.  Valerie was a loving aunt to nieces and nephews, Christine Fox and her husband, Christopher, John Ietto and his wife, Jessica, and Matthew and Emily Ietto, and to her great nieces and nephews, Bridget and Nathaniel Fox and Benjamin and Charlotte Ietto. Valerie also leaves her loving aunts and cousins. Valerie cherished her circle of friends in her community, as well.

Calling hours will be Wednesday July 31, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Smith and Walker Funeral Home: 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. Funeral service will be Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home, with burial to follow in East Woodstock Cemetery, Woodstock.
