Obituary of Raymond A. Levesque

Raymond Levesque, 73, of Mechanic Street Putnam, died Friday February 15th at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, after an illness. He was born September 7, 1934 in Putnam, son of the late Henry and Stella (Rys) Levesque. He worked as an aide for 31 years at the former Mansfield Training School in Mansfield, CT. Ray had made his home in Putnam all his life and was a communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation. He was a graduate of the Putnam High School Class of 1952 where he excelled in both football and basketball. He enjoyed all sports and was an avid fan of NASCAR, The New England Patriots, and Boston Red Sox. Ray served in the US Air Force from 1954 and received an honorable discharge in 1958. He leaves his children - Michael Levesque and his wife Sue of Putnam; Karen Smith and her husband Greg of Putnam; and Susan Levesque of Brooklyn, as well as his grandchildren - Ricky, Kevin, Scott, Michael, Briana, and Rick. He also leaves behind and his special friend, Lucille LeClair. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Church of The Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam, with burial following in St. Mary Cemetery in Putnam. There are no calling hours. His family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Mary Church Building Fund, St. Mary School, or a charity of one's choice in his memory.
