Barbara "Bobby" Wheaton, 89 of Liberty Highway, Putnam, died Saturday at the Westview Nursing Home in Dayville. She was the wife of the late Raymond T. Wheaton, he died in 1987. She was born December 18, 1918 in Putnam, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Lynch) Fox. She had made her home in Putnam all her life a member of the Putnam Congregational Church. She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, and golf. She was a member of the Quinnatisset Country Club in Thompson for many years and was a member of women's bowling leagues. She was a member of the American Red Cross for several years. She enjoyed summers at her lake home on Alexander's Lake. She had a great love for her cats. She leaves a daughter: Deborah Corrus and her husband Richard of Wilmette, IL; grandchildren: Ann Marie Gustavson and her husband Eric of Putnam; Emily; Mallory and Russell Corrus of Wilmette, IL; and great grandchildren: Abe and Ben; a niece: Susan Morissette of Woodstock; a nephew: Thomas Raymond Wheaton of Bradenton, FL; She was predeceased by a son and daughter-in-law: Richard and Theresa Wheaton. A Memorial Service will be held Friday April 25th at 10:00 AM in the Congregational Church of Putnam, 175 Main Street, Putnam, CT. There are no calling hours.
