Cecelia Dinwoodie Bray, 78, of Union, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024, at Matulaitis Rehabilitation & Skilled Care, Putnam, CT. Cecelia was born on August 13, 1946 in Great Barrington, MA, and was the daughter of Suzanne Carion Dinwoodie of Union, CT. Cecelia was the beloved wife of William (Bill) Bray for 28 years.
She leaves her son Mathieu Silbermann, and his wife Ellen, and cherished granddaughters, Madeline and Elizabeth Silbermann of Union, CT. She is survived by her brother, Thomas (Tom), and wife, Jeanne Dinwoodie, and family of Atwater, CA.
Cecelia was a 1964 graduate of Woodstock Academy. After a fulfilling career in assisted living, Cecelia retired from Christopher Heights, Webester, MA, as Director of Admissions and Marketing. She was the Agent for the Elderly in Union and active for many years with the Meals on Wheels program locally. She often volunteered at Union Elementary School’s hot lunch program and other local events.
She loved camping in NH, motorcycle trips, downhill skiing, and fishing with her husband Bill.
She was co-owner of Hatchet Hill Farm Sugarhouse, an avid and accomplished gardener, and don’t even think about touching her lawn mower! Cecelia never met a stranger and will be missed greatly by many, with her heart and spirit living on in those she knew.
