Obituary of Jonathan L. Chatelle
Jonathan L. Chatelle, 44, of Pomfret Center, CT passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2024 at his home in Pomfret Center, CT. He was born November 9, 1979 in Putnam, CT, son of Alan and Cheryl (Demars) Chatelle.
Jonathan’s free spirit and heart was riding his Harley. He loved riding with friends from here to New Hampshire. He enjoyed camping and hiking especially in the fall. Yardwork and landscaping were his passions right from his first job. He loved all kinds of animals and was always saving them.
His favorite thing was listening to Pink Floyd. Even his dog was Floyd. Being an avid NY Giants and Boston Red Sox fan, he named his cat Mookie from a Sox player. He was a kind soul and would drop everything if someone needed his help. He was your typical good Samaritan.
Jon lost his brother, Nick 16 years ago. They were extremely close and he never got over the loss of his best friend. They played football and baseball, with their dad as coach of official, from the age of six into Killingly High School.
His heart and soul belong now and forever to his niece Ailise. He remained a father figure and fierce protecter much of her life. From teaching her how to drive a stick to carving pumpkins. They had a special bond. His nephew Nick has been his buddy from the day he was born. From frog races at the campground to building rockets. He loved them both so much.
He leaves his parents Alan and Cheryl Chatelle; his beloved niece Ailise Chatelle and his nephew Nick Chatelle, Jr.; his uncles Leo Chatelle and his wife Deb and Donald Chatelle and his wife Judy as well as several cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Nick Chatelle, Sr. in October of 2008.
