Mr. Gagnon was my shop teacher at Putnam High School from 1978-1982. I absolutely loved his classes. I remember one day he had a detonation plunger to set off explosives. He had us all hold hands in a circle and someone pushed down the plunger and the last 2 people would grab hands and get zapped.
We all laughed and thought that was awesome!!

To Steve and family. Jim was my shop teacher in high school, 1964. He was always professional and a gentleman. To know him was to love him. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. I cherished the friendship we maintained after high school. He’ll forever be in our heart and his memory will live on. My deepest sympathy on your loss.

I am very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We were close friends for many years, whether teaching at Putnam High School, working together on weekends and during summers, or partying for many years along with our wives. Jim was always a happy person. There are many, many memories which I shall never forget. He certainly lived a full life. Rest in peace old friend, and maybe we will meet again on the other side.

To the Gagnon Family,
Jim was a great Y friends that I had made since moving to Killingly in 2019. We had many good discussions and laughs in the Y Welness Center while working out and in the locker room. I enjoyed the "fire balls but sometimes complained about the really hot ones. We both were well into our senior years and followed the slogan "Motion is Lotion" to keep good health. I regret that I cannot be at his memorial service on February 7th to celebrate his wonderful life. Jim was a gentleman who will be missed. I give my condolences here to all of the Gagnon family.

My condolences to the Gagnon family
I fondly remember Mr. Gagnon as a friendly and caring teacher. I don't know how he got through it, but after school he would take Ellen Fitzpatrick, Janice Copeland and myself out for driving lessons. Thank goodness for his patience, we became licensed drivers that year, 1962.
Sincerely
