Obituary of Esther Parent

Esther (Thomas) Parent, 81, of Route 171, South Woodstock, died Friday, February 22, 2008, at the Haven Health Care in Danielson. Beloved wife of the late Joseph H. Parent; they were married December 27, 1946 in Notre Dame Church in Southbridge; he died December 12, 2006. She was born June 15, 1926 in the Fabyan section of Thompson. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Christina (Christo) Thomas. She had made her home in South Woodstock for many years, a communicant of Most Holy Trinity Church. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and sister. She was employed at Line Master Switch in Woodstock for over 30 years. She leaves her children: Robert J. Parent of S. Woodstock; Doreen McGuire and her husband David of Stafford Springs; three sisters: Pauline Angelo of Putnam; Olga Petluch of Fabyan; Helen Thomas of Fabyan, a sister-in-law: Annette Thomas of Fabyan, grandchildren: Angela Wheeler and her husband Christopher of Enfield; Alexander J. Salony of Stafford Springs; David McGuire, Jr. of Rockville; Jessica McGuire of Stafford Springs; Aaron Parent of S. Woodstock; great grandchildren: Kaylie Wheeler and Jaden Wheeler. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 10:30 AM from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Most Holy Trinity Church 568 Pomfret Street, Pomfret. Calling Hours Monday, February 25, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Webster, MA. Smith and Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
