Obituary of Claudia Vincenti-Smith

Claudia Vincenti- Smith June 24, 1953 - February 23, 2008 WOODSTOCK - After a long, courageous struggle, our dear Claudia died at her home in Woodstock, CT on February 23. She is survived by her loving husband, Patrick McKenna Lynch Smith. Claudia was born June 24, 1953 in Hartford, CT, daughter of Lucille (Murtha) Vincenti and the late E. John Vincenti. Claudia grew up in Glastonbury, CT before moving to New Canaan, CT where she graduated from New Canaan High School in 1971, then the University of Connecticut in 1975. After college, she was employed in the Latin American Division of Cadbury Schweppes in Stamford. Claudia and Patrick were married in 1984 and lived in New Canaan before moving to Killingly, CT in 1992. There she was office manager for Logee's Greenhouses. Most recently she was employed in the financial department of Crabtree and Evelyn. In addition to her husband, Claudia is survived by her mother, her brother Michael and his wife Catherine, her brother Matthew and his wife Ann, her sister Laura Butler and her husband Robert, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves brothers-in-law Taxi and Vince, her dear friends Annette, Lowry, Choux, Alex,Laurel, Susan, Marty, Bonny, and, of course, Mr. "D" the people at Crabtree, and a host of other friends, both here and abroad. Claudia was a gourmet cook, an avid gardener, and had a smile that was the envy of the gods. She will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 8th at Christ Church, 521 Pomfret Street, Pomfret, CT.
