Obituary of Alexander Dina

Alexander Dina, 77, of Liberty Highway, Putnam, died Thursday at the Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford, MA after an illness. He was the beloved husband of Pauline (Lefrancois) Dina, they were married in Webster July 31, 1963. He was born October 26, 1930 in Resen, Yugoslavia, son of the late Ahilea and Nada (Popoff) Dina.

He was an electrician and was employed for twenty years for Broadway Electric as a Construction Supervisor. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Navy on the USS Goodrich. He came to the United States in 1936 aboard the Queen Mary, and has made his home in Putnam most of his life. He was a member of the Putnam VFW # 1523. He enjoyed traveling, and his many trips to Canada. He always had time for his family, helping his son, his daughter or his siblings with home projects, and most of all being a loving father to his children and a grandfather to his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Pauline, he leaves a son: Alexander Dina, II and his wife Lilian of Sutton, MA; a daughter: Alexis Conte and her husband Samuel of East Putnam; stepchildren: Debra Keeler and her husband David of Tolland; Donna McGowen of Denver, CO; Stephen Adamczyk and his wife Cindy of Ashford; a brother: James Dina and his wife Christina of Putnam; a sister: Mary Page and her husband Gary of Putnam; grandchildren: Ariana and Evelyn, a step grandson: Shawn, many nieces, nephews and several dear relatives and friends, and his grand dog Capone.

The Funeral will be Monday at 11:15 from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Service at 12 Noon at the Most Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 80 Water Street, Danielson. Calling Hours Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Burial with Military Honors in Grove Street Cemetery in Putnam.
