Obituary of Florence I. Chase

Florence I. Chase, 94, of Pomfret Center passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Florence was born August 14, 1913 in Putnam, the eldest daughter of George Fairmont and Carrie Florence Chase. She married Ellsworth E Chase Sr. on April 22, 1933. They had been married for 54 years at the time of his passing in October 1986. She and her husband were dedicated and hard-working farmers for over 40 years. She had a love and passion for nature and was a master at growing flowers. She leaves a son Ellsworth E Chase Jr. and his wife Patricia of Middletown, and two daughters Mary Ellen Morrarty of Pomfret and Priscilla Babbitt of Norwich as well as 10 grand children and five great-grand children. She is also survived by four sisters and a brother. A special thank you to Sharon LaPierre and her team for the love, compassion and excellent home health care provided over the past 3 years. There was a private graveside service at Abington Cemetery. Smith and Walker Funeral Home, Putnam Connecticut was in charge of arrangements.
