Dear Janet and Family,
We send you our sincere condolences on the death of Paul. We have known him for about 30 years through Carl and Celia--birthdays, family celebrations etc. We enjoyed his wry sense of humor and intelligence. Nothing was " out of bounds ". He addressed the world as he saw it and it was generally very correct. Candor and naked honesty are rare and welcome qualities. Paul delivered them in a very personal way.

When looking back at my childhood from the second grade when I became and have remained one of Julia's bestfriends, I cannot help but think about Paul or as I called him "Dad" so many of my memories were with the DeSimones. Now I knew when I was going to go over I would have family chores to do but with that I always knew would be a great dinner or lunch and great music. He was always interested in what was going on with me & I loved having great conversations together. Julia & Andrea we will for the rest of our lives continue to remember the great times together. I love all of you and by the grace of God give you the strength to get through this difficult time. Rest in Peace Dad!

We just wanted to share that we are friends of Andrea's and even though we never met Mr. DeSimone in person, we know that his characteristics of "generosity, sharp wit, great sense of humor and culinary passion" live on in his children AND grand children.
