Obituary of Cynthia A. Hamel

Tolland - Cynthia A. "Cindy" Hamel, 58, of Tolland, CT, entered into eternal life on Sunday, June 29, at the Westview Health Care Center in Dayville. Cindy was born January 24, 1950 in Putnam, beloved daughter of Beatrice (Bonneau) Hamel of Putnam and the late Gerard "Trainor" Hamel who predeceased her in 1995. She leaves several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and a Godson Zachary Talley of Baltimore, MD.She also leaves a close friend Janet Macari of Dudley, MA. She graduated from the former St. Joseph High School in North Grosvenordale, Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester, MA and Bauder College in Key Biscayne, FL, where she received her degree in Retailing. Cindy was employed for many years by the Follett Corporation as a College Book Store Manager at Wesleyan University, CT and up until her retirement at Westfield State College, Westfield, MA. Cindy enjoyed traveling around the world, was an enthusiastic NASCAR racing fan, loved her flower gardening, and spending time with her many dear friends. Cindy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her family, friends, and her faithful cat, Molly Bell. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Connecticut VNA Hospice, 20 Furnace Street, Danielson, CT 06239. Graveside Service will be Tuesday, July 8th at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Grosvenordale. Smith & Walker Funeral Home is directing arrangements.
