Putnam-Ruth May Stevens, 94 of Butts Road, Woodstock, died July 3, 2008, at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam. She was born March 11, 1914 in Lunenburg, VT, daughter of the late Willie and Glennie (Chase) Stevens. She was a member of the East Woodstock Congregational Church in East Woodstock. She enjoyed traveling to Florida and Canada. She had made her home in North Woodstock for many years. Ruth had worked for over twenty five years at the former Stillwater Mill in Woodstock, her last work was at Putnam Hertzel. She leaves a niece, Charlotte Chrappa Wilson of Pickens, SC. She was predeceased by a brother Herbert R. Stevens and a sister Gladys Wilson. A Memorial Service will be 6:00 PM, July 16, 2008 at Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Burial will be in Summer Street Cemetery in Lancaster, NH. The Smith & Walker Funeral Home, Putnam, is in charge of the arrangements. www.smithandwalkerfh.com
