Obituary of Charles E. St. Onge

Charles E. St. Onge, 81, of 115 Sabin Street, Putnam passed away July 10, 2008 in his sleep at home. Charles leaves his beloved wife and best friend Livette St. Onge. He was born in Putnam on January 25, 1927, the son of the late Peter and Mary (School) St. Onge. He is a veteran of WWII serving both in the U.S. Army and the American Merchant Marines between 1944 and 1946. After his service, he married Livette Bernier of Putnam in St. Mary Church, on November 30, 1946. Mrs. St. Onge survives him. Charles worked at Pratt and Whitney, a Div. of United Technologies, in East Hartford, for some 30 plus years retiring from a foreman position on June 30, 1983. During his employment he received his GED (High School) diploma on October 31, 1962. Besides his wife of 62 years, he is survived by son, Richard St. Onge of Woodstock, Ct., by four brothers, Peter, Armand, Ronnie St. Onge in Florida, Robert St. Onge of Putnam and by two sisters, Edna Brown of Putnam and Jeannette Pierro of Manchester, Ct. He was predeceased by sons, Charles, Jr. and Leo St. Onge and by two brothers, William and Arthur St. Onge. A Funeral Mass will be Saturday July 19, 2008 at 10:30 AM at ST Mary of The Visitation Church, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. There are no calling hours.
