Obituary of Florence E. Tetreault
Florence (Arpin) Tetreault, 88, of South Main Street, Putnam, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Amede Tetreault; they were married June 10, 1939. She was born in Canada, June 10, 1920, daughter of the late Aldric and Mary Jane (Auger) Arpin.
She has made her home in Putnam since the age of two. She was a member of ST Mary Church of the Visitation, ST Mary's League of Catholic Women for six years in the seventy's, formed a volunteer group for shut-ins' at that time to visit the nursing home and shut-ins' in their home with gifts and baked goods. She organized the Putnam Travel Club in 1977, a nonprofit organization with as many as 1000 members, from the ten town area. She worked for ten years at the Colonial Greeting Card Co. in Webster, where she was a supervisor, she retired in 1974.
She leaves her husband Amede, two daughters, Joyce Cyr and her husband Reny of Putnam; June Foley and her husband Kevin of Putnam; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers and sisters including: Shirley, Mary Jane, Barbara and Richard. She was predeceased by a son Gary Tetreault in 1991 and a brother Lionel killed in WWII.
The Funeral will be Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 10:30 AM from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in ST Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Burial in ST Mary Cemetery, Putnam. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to ST Mary Church of the Visitation or Hospice of NECT PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260.
