Thompson - Bernice L. (Lambert) Bayer, 90, of Thompson passed away Thursday at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam, where she was a resident since 2004. She was born March 25, 1918 in Bay City, MI, daughter of the late Edward and Mildred (Armstrong) Lambert. She was a resident of Thompson and a member of the Thompson Congregational Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and caring for her flower gardens. She was a loving mother and grandmother and is survived by three children, Marilyn Mulcahy and her husband Edward of Clearwater, FL, Lawrence Bayer and his wife Muriel of Thompson, Dennis Bayer and his wife Beverly of North Fort Myers, FL, seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was married to Lawrence Bayer who survives her. Private Funeral Services will be held in Munyan Cemetery, Putnam, CT. There are no calling hours. She was an ardent lover of cats, donations may be made in her memory to Kitty Harbor, 2263 Glasgo Rd, Griswold CT 06351 (a non-profit, no-kill sanctuary for homeless, abandoned or abused cats and kittens).
