Obituary of Nancy K. Ebbs

Nancy K. Ebbs, 81 of Thompson, died Thursday at Hubbard Hospital in Webster, MA. She was born January 11, 1927 in Newport, RI, daughter of Laurence K. and Constance H. Ebbs. She resided there until 1946 when she and her mother moved to their farm in Thompson where she maintained a herd of registered Jersey cattle and a herd of Saanen goats. She was a member of the American Jersey Cattle Club, the Connecticut Jersey Cattle Club, the American Dairy Goat Association, the National, State and Pomona Granges and was a member of the Quinnatisset Grange #65 since 1949, holding the offices of Secretary for 15 years and Treasurer since 1975. She was also an officer in Quinebaug Pomona Grange and Membership Director of the Connecticut State Grange. She is survived by an aunt, Jane C. "Jenny" Ebbs, cousins Trish DeWolf, Lydia Smith, Judy Quattrucci, Bill Gray, Jack Gray and Sward Lockwood. She was predeceased by cousins, Faith Rafferty, Elizabeth Gray and Frank Decker. A Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 1st at the Thompson Congregational Church, 347 Thompson Road, Thompson. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Quinnatisset Grange Scholarship Fund or to Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine Scholarship Fund.
