Obituary of Augusta Swanberg

January 2, 1918 - November 3, 2008 Woodstock - Augusta Swanberg, formerly of New Sweden Rd, Woodstock, died at Westview. Wife of the late Sigurd Swanberg, he died April 2, 1963. Born in Woodstock, daughter of the late Lester and Estella (Gage) Star. She had worked over the years for Bugbee Department Store, the Woodstock Variety Store and Dr. Painters Office. She was a former member of the Ladies Aide Society of the Covenant Church and had made her home in Woodstock all her life. She leaves her children: Sigurd Swanberg of Woodstock; Richard Swanberg of Santa Monica, CA; Marion Rall of La Quinta, CA; grandchildren: Jennifer Sinay of Ladera Ranch, CA; Kerri Rall of Brighton, MA; Karen Swanberg of Woodstock; Donna Messier of Woodstock; a great granddaughter: Rebecca Messier; three nieces: Carol Hambley Peterson of IL; Dianna Hambley Weamer of OH; Ruth Haye of CT. She was predeceased by sisters Eleanor Star; Arlene Star Hambley. Also two very close and dear friends, Russell Dowd and Michael Chobociak predeceased her. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Elmvale Cemetery, Senexet Rd, Woodstock, CT.
