Obituary of Melissa A. Galenski

Melissa A. Galenski, 28 of Hoboken, NJ, died unexpectedly Monday at home. She was born January 21, 1980 in Putnam, daughter of the Donald P. and Joan (Misiaszek) Galenski of Woodstock Valley. She had made her home in the New York - New Jersey area for the last four years. She was a communicant of St. Philip's the Apostle Church in Ashford, a 1998 graduate of Woodstock Academy. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Syracuse University in 2002 and in 2004 she received her Master's Degree in Sports Management from the University of Connecticut. She was a member of the Syracuse Marching Band for two years. Melissa volunteered for "Make A Wish". She had worked for Gotham Direct and NBC Television Advertising for the last four years. Her hobbies included exercising, running; she loved all sports and an avid NY Yankee's Fan. She leaves in addition to her Mother and Father Joan and Don Galenski, a sister, Heidi Urias and her husband Luis of Los Angeles, CA, an aunt Bernice Fabian of Willimantic, two uncles, Chester Misiaszek, Jr. and Fred Misiaszek, both of Putnam. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday at St. Philip's the Apostle Church, 64 Pompey Hollow Road (Rt. 44) Ashford. Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Putnam.
