Obituary of Frederick P. Noon

June 3, 1933 - November 11, 2008 Pomfret Center - Frederick P. "Bub" Noon, Jr., 75, of Pomfret Center, passed away on November 11, 2008 at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Hospital in Worcester, MA after a two-year courageous battle with cancer, beloved husband of Linda (Ericson) Noon for forty years. Fred was born in Pomfret Center, son of the late Frederick P. Noon, Sr. and Olive (Baker) Noon. Fred worked at the Natchaug Forest in Eastford for the Connecticut DEP for 34 years, retiring in 1995. Throughout his life, Fred loved to work outdoors; in his garden, mowing his lawn, working the fields on his property. He also enjoyed reading and woodworking and he loved his animals. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Nancy of Thompson and her fiance, Scott Wolfe of South Killingly; brothers and sisters Joyce and the late Leon Albro of Abington, Alan and Connie Noon of Putnam, Lillian and Walter Rose of Abington, Robert and Maggie of Colchester; brothers- and sisters-in-law Louis and the late Glenna Ericson of Putnam, Karl and Jackie Ericson of East Greenwich, RI. Fred was predeceased by his little brother, Gerald Noon and his sister-in-law Eleanor Ericson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as many Pomfret friends who knew him best as "Bub". The Funeral Service will be at Monday at 10:30 AM from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Most Holy Trinity Church, 568 Pomfret Street, Pomfret Center, CT. Calling Hours will be Monday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial in South Cemetery, Pomfret.
