Obituary of William A. Pechie

William A. "Bill" Pechie, 46, of Liberty Highway, Putnam, died Wednesday at the Day Kimball Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Mary E. (Judd) Pechie; they were married November 9, 1996 in St. Joseph Church in Dayville. He was born October 20, 1962 in Putnam, son of Joanna F. (Charron) Pechie and the late George F. Pechie. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Dayville; Bill was a CDL Licensed truck driver. He has been driving for National Freight, Inc (NFI) at Lowe's in Plainfield; he had also worked for other trucking companies. He was a security officer for many years at the Woodstock Fair, working in dispatch. Bill served as a Lieutenant with the Attawaugan Volunteer Fire Department and was an EMT. He was a former member of the Williamsville and East Putnam Fire Departments. His hobbies included making Maple Syrup, coaching youth soccer and spending time with his children. He leaves his wife Mary, his children Danielle Pechie of Putnam; Noelle Pechie; Miranda Pechie, Michaela Pechie all at home, his mother Joanna Pechie and her partner Roger Daigle of Pomfret; a brother Kevin Pechie and his partner Marian Baron of Plainfield; a sister Brenda Voorhees and her husband Chris of Danielson; two aunts, Prudence Marchessault of Danielson, Charlotte Trahan of Woodstock, two grandchildren, Cheyenne and Phoenix; nephews, Jared, Jamie, Eric, Kevin, Jr. and much extended family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 350 Hartford Pike, Dayville. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Putnam. Donations may be made in his memory to the Attawaugan Fire Department, c/o Chief Brian Pepin, 20 Country Club Road, Dayville, CT 06241.
