Obituary of Marjorie F. Long

Putnam-Marjorie F. "Marge" Long, 76 of Fox Road, Putnam, died December 4,2008Wednesday morning at home surrounded by her loving daughters. She was the wife of George Long. Born February 11, 1932 in Putnam, daughter of the late Frederick Shippee and Elsie (Burton) Stark. She made her home in Putnam all her life. She was a member of the Putnam Baptist Church. She was a waitress at the Town Room Restaurant in Pevner's in Putnam. In 1984 she opened Margeo's Restaurant in Putnam, and retired in 1994. She loved knitting, flower gardening, shopping and spending time with her family, especially caring for her grandchildren. Marge was a loving, caring and giving, people person, who would open the restaurant during fires and hurricanes to meet the needs of others. She leaves in addition to her husband George, her mother Elsie Stark of Dayville, her children: Paula Deskus of Putnam; Cheryl Miller of Brooklyn; Michael Tetreault of TX; Denise Fulton of Ballouville; Wendy Corey of Putnam; Laurie Rugh of New Philadelphia, OH; Toni Perkins of Thompson; brother Frederick Shippee of NY, 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Wayne Tetreault, two sisters Elsie Bushey and Florence Bourbeau. A Funeral Service will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Putnam Baptist Church, 170 Church Street, Putnam. Calling hours Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Burial in Munyan Cemetery, Putnam.
