'Coach' will surely be missed. He meant so much to so many through his many years at Putnam High.
I remember making an error to lose a baseball game to Plainfield - he didn't talk to me for 2 weeks. He really hated to lose (especially to Plainfield and Coach Dropo!)
Carrying that medicine kit every practice taught me to never be late for anything!!!
God Bless You - Coach!

Mr Greenhalgh was my gym teacher at Putnam High School from 1960-1964. I always thought of him as a kind and gentle man with a good sense of humor and a way of teaching that was patient and respectfull of his students.

When one looks back in life, you think about someone who had a great influence on what you did and who you are. Coach Greenhalgh was that man. He asked me once at football practice if I knew why 10 Nov. was important. I said I didn't. He told he it was the birthday of his beloved Marine Corps. Years later I showed up in my Marine Corps uniform and he gave me a big Semper Fi(USMC motto). What a great man.
