Obituary of Paul B. Gregory, Sr.

Putnam - Paul B. Gregory, Sr., 81, of Cleveland Street, Putnam died Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Haven Health in Danielson. He was the husband of the late Harriet A. (Schaniel) Gregory, she died in 1963 and his second wife Alison W. (Ford) Gregory died in 1993. He was born May 4, 1927 in Warren, PA, son of Henry and Emma (Kingsley) Gregory. He was raised in Sugar Grove, PA and moved to Putnam in 1978. He was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy in the South Pacific on the USS Polana. He was an over the road truck driver for over 50 years. He drove for IBA Inc. of Millbury, MA for 15 years, retiring in 1997. He was an avid race car fan, Dale Earnhardt fan, enjoyed motorcycle riding, visiting with his friends for breakfast at the Village Restaurant and coffee at PJ's Donut Shop. He leaves his sons: Henry Gregory and his wife Heidi of Putnam; Lance Gregory and his wife Tammy of Putnam, daughter-in-law Ruth E. Gregory of New Milford; grandson: Timothy Gregory of Putnam; brothers: Jack C. Gregory and John P. Gregory, both of Sugar Grove, PA, sister: Pearl I. Illman of Forest Grove, OR, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his oldest son, Paul B. Gregory, Jr. in 2008. Calling hours will be Saturday, February 14, 2009 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM.
