Obituary of Blanche Fitzsimmons
Blanche Fitzsimmons, 92, of School Street, Putnam, formerly of Dayville, died Sunday at home. She was the beloved wife of the late William Fitzsimmons, he died in 1986. They were married September 16, 1939 in ST James Church, Danielson. She was born September 15, 1916 in Danielson, the twelfth child of Joseph and Amanda (Dubreuil) Bedard.
She was a communicant of ST Joseph Church, Dayville. She will be remembered as a loving, caring and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother and great great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children: Joyce LaFleur and her husband William of Ledyard, William Fitzsimmons and his wife Denise of Norwich, James Fitzsimmons of Putnam, Michael Fitzsimmons and his wife Nancy of Bluffton, SC. Blanche was lovingly known as MeMe to her seven grandchildren: Mark LaFleur, Suzanne LaFleur, Brian LaFleur, Pamela White, JoAnn Sparks, James M. Fitzsimmons, Laurie Kachadoorian, fifteen great grandchildren: Nicholas, Sarah, Samuel, Serena, Colin, Grace, Abigail, Micheala, Monique, James, Nicole, Eva, Taylor, Sheldon, Lynden.
The Funeral will be Friday at 10:30 AM from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church in Dayville. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Dayville. Calling hours are Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home.
