John Day posted a condolence
Fred was a patient of mine since 2006. He was just an incredible fighter, a lovely, kind man and unfailingly optimistic and cheerful to all. He probably did more with less than any patient I can remember. I will miss him a great deal. He always left our office in a much better mood than before he came in. I still marvel that he could paint street signs for the Quinebaug bicycle ride and was so dedicated to that and so many things.

Fred was a patient on our floor numerous times, and we got to know him well over the years. No matter how badly he was feeling or what he was going through, he was always friendly and pleasant to the staff and we always appreciated that. He was a very sweet and likable person and he will definitely be missed. Our sympathies to his family for your loss. Take comfort in knowing that Fred is in a better place and that his suffering has come to an end.
