Obituary of Fred C. Harraden, III
Fred C. Harraden, III, 55, of Putnam and Woodstock passed away Sept. 12, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with lung disease.
Fred grew up in Woodstock, attended Woodstock schools, and graduated from Frank W. Cox High School in Virginia Beach, VA.
He worked for several years at the Belding Corticelli Thread Co. in Putnam before moving to Virginia where he was employed by PestMasters, Inc. in Richmond until his retirement in 2006.
Fred is survived by his mother, Helen Harraden of Woodstock and his siblings: Barbara Morse (Stewart) of Woodstock; Jonathan Harraden (Belinda) of North Adams, MA; and David Harraden (Sandee) of Everglades City, FL.
He was predeceased by his father, Fred C. Harraden, II and his sister, Sarah Fenick.
He also leaves his close friend Reanee A. McClannan of Richmond, VA.
Fred wanted to offer thanks to Dr. John Day, Dr. Jane Doyle, Dr. Edmond Kim and the staff at Day Kimball Hospital, especially the I.M.T. therapists at Therapeutic Enterprises. Their skills and compassion over the past three years allowed him to enjoy life to the fullest.
A memorial service will be held at East Woodstock Congregational Church, 220 Woodstock Road, East Woodstock, CT on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 at 11 a.m.
