Obituary of Raymond F. Erskine
Raymond F. Erskine, 69, of Hampton Road, Abington CT, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. He was born March 9, 1941 in Abington, son of the late Arthur Erskine and Mary Margaret Murray Erksine. He was the beloved husband of Lillian R. (Rucki) Erskine, they were married in 1963.
Raymond earned a degree from the Connecticut State Teachers College; he became a certified teacher and was Department Head of the Carpentry Department at Ellis Technical School, Danielson, retiring in 1996.
In addition to his wife Lillian, Raymond is survived by his daughter Christina M. Erskine, granddaughter Kaitlyn M. Erskine, sisters: Beverly Aubin; Barbara Bourque: Shirley Coan and her husband John, brothers-in-law: Patrick Kelly and his wife Gloria; Walter J. Rucki and his wife Lucille; John Rucki and his wife Judy, his mother-in-law Lillian Rucki and many nieces and nephews. Raymond was predeceased by his brothers: Arthur Erskine and James Erskine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Most Holy Trinity Church, 568 Pomfret Street, Pomfret, CT. A calling hour will be held Friday, September 10, 2010 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Smith and Walker Funeral, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Pomfret Fire Department, PO Box 306 Pomfret Center, CT 06259.
