Obituary of Harvey Edmund Dubay

Harvey Edmund Dubay, 77, of Danielson, Connecticut, died Sunday, January 9, 2011 at UMASS Memorial following complications from pneumonia. He was born in Connor, Maine on April 19, 1933, son of the late Levi and Alma Dubay. He is survived by his wife, Carolina Dubay, and their three children, Anne Dauphinais and her husband Dale (Duffy), Dale Dubay, and Maria Smith and her husband Kim, all residents of northeastern Connecticut. He leaves behind five grandchildren, Tara Swagger and her husband Seth, Destani Danis, Jacob Danis, Joel Danis and his fiancee Gina Phaiah, and Levi Smith, as well as his great granddaughter, Paisley Danis. He was one of ten children and is survived by Pearl Dubay, Kenneth Dubay and his wife Mary, and Bonnie Brennan. He proudly served 22 years in the U.S. Navy and retired in 1974 as Chief Petty Officer. He founded Dubay's Tractor Center, LLC in Danielson, CT in 1976. In recent years he managed the business with his son and continued to enjoy doing some welding and fabricating. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and storyteller. Known for his generosity to his family and friends, he was a hard -working man who was deeply devoted to his family. A private memorial service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers please make donations in his memory to the American Heart or the American Lung Associations.
