Although I grew up in the Western states and there were many miles between us, I have fond memories of my Grandma Cole. My memories are from a few visits over the years where we made the trip to Connecticut and from high school and college graduations where Grandma and Grandpa made the flight out to celebrate our accomplishments with us. I also have a stack of letters from Grandma that I encounter every once in a while and read through them. They always have me laughing with tears in my eyes by the time I’m done. What a character she was! She always had such a sharp wit about her. One of my favorites is when she addressed a letter to my new cat, Jasmine, welcoming her to the family. She really cracked me up. I will miss that feisty twinkle in her eyes and her kind, encouraging words. Grandma, I will always have a warm place in my heart for you. Your song lives on through the lives of your wonderful daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When you leave a lasting legacy like this, then you are never truly gone. Love always.
