Obituary of Janeth R. Cole

Janeth R. Cole, 86, of East Woodstock, CT, passed away Friday at the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London. Janeth was born Dec. 22, 1924 in Worcester, MA, daughter of Henry and Elsie (Mead) McIntosh. She was a student nurse at Worcester Memorial Hospital where she met the love of her life, Henry B. Cole, whom she married on June 1, 1946 in her hometown. They renewed their vows on Valentine's Day 2011 to celebrate their upcoming 65th wedding anniversary. Henry and Janeth made their home in Woodstock for over 64 years. She was a gifted and talented musician and as a former member of the East Woodstock Congregational Church she served as a substitute organist and pianist for many years. She was active with both the Ladies Benevolent Society and the Betty Putnam Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She volunteered her time for many years in the Woodstock area, helping children with learning disabilities. Janeth was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She leaves in addition to her loving husband Henry, her daughters Constance Lovell of Waterford, CT and Lauren DeHerrera of Chandler, AZ, as well as her grandchildren: Sheri Barclay, Pamela Rowe, Mark DeHerrera, Christopher DeHerrera, Ryan DeHerrera, and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister Alyson Desaulniers. A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday March 12, 2011 at the East Woodstock Congregational Church, 220 Woodstock Rd, East Woodstock, CT. Spring burial in Elmvale Cemetery, Woodstock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Betty Putnam Chapter of the OES, 295 Valentine Road, Pomfret Center, CT 06259.
