Putnam - Beverly "Bea" Frances Benoit (Heath), 63, of School Street, Putnam, died March 8, 2011 at Day Kimball Hospital after a 3 year battle with cancer. Beloved husband to James J. Benoit they were married July 11, 1985. She was born March 4, 1948 in Shawangunk, NY, daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Summers) Heath. She worked for Fiber Optics Technology in Pomfret as a light guide builder for 11 years. Beverly had a love for country music and playing the guitar. She would always lend a helping hand to family and friends in need. Bea also loved watching the swans on the French River in Thompson. She enjoyed collecting angels and owls. Besides her husband she leaves her loving dog Riley and siblings, Barbara Messier of Putnam, Phillip E. Heath of Putnam, Ethel Mae Heath of Central Village, Albert Heath, Jr. of Danielson, Robert Heath of Putnam, Dorothy Vanasse of Putnam, and two brother in-laws and two sister-in-laws and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister and a niece Martha Ann Ritchie and Grace Sliva. Calling Hours will be Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM with a funeral Service at 4:00 PM at Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Burial will be in Putnam Heights Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, 1-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
