Obituary of Blanche A. Lamothe

Blanche Aurore (Montpelier) Lamothe, 87, of Sabin Street, Putnam, passed away at Mystic Manor Nursing Care on March 9, surrounded by her family after complications with cancer. She was born in Thompson, the daughter of the late Ernest and Aurore (Desorcy) Montpelier. Blanche was united in marriage to Raymond R. Lamothe, on June 4, 1949. Raymond predeceased her on July 5, 1996. A loving Wife, Mother, Memere', and Great-Grandmother, she will be greatly missed. Ms. Lamothe was a weaver at the former Cluett Peabody Mills in Grosvenordale, before she dedicated her life as a homemaker for her family. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, dominos, and caring for family and friends. She leaves behind a devoted family, including her sons, Robert Lamothe and wife Simonne of Brooklyn, Richard Lamothe and wife Christine of Putnam, and her daughter, Linda Bernier and husband Gerard of Scotland. She leaves seven grandchildren: Chad Lamothe, Holly Mayo and her husband Troy, Melanie Lamothe, Dawn Bernier, Courtney Lamothe, Devin and Emily Bernier. She also leaves one great grandson, Benjamin Mayo. In addition she leaves two sisters, Jeannette Corriveau, and Yvonne Remillard, one brother, Raymond Montpelier, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers: Ernest, Arthur, Lionel, Armand, and Francis Montpelier, and two sisters: Florida Laporte, and Doris Alix. A Prayer Service Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by burial in Saint Mary's Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Friday (Today) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
