Obituary of James C. Cutler

James Calvin Cutler, 60 of Chase Road, Putnam, died unexpectedly Wednesday at home. He was the son of Ellsworth and Thelma (Barton) Cutler. He was born December 21, 1951 in Putnam. James worked in maintenance at Tegrant Company in Putnam for the last 34 years. He loved to travel and had been in all fifty states. He twice took his nephews Jeff and Steven on cross country trips after their 8th grade graduation. He was a Civil War buff and was very knowledgeable about the war. His great great great grandfather, John Barton served in the Civil War. He was a member of the Connecticut Audubon Society in Pomfret, the Aspinock Historical Society and had served as vice president, and a member of Quinebaug Valley Photography Club. James was willing to help anyone in need, he will be missed by his family and friends. He leaves his father and mother, Ellsworth and Thelma of Putnam; his siblings Randy Cutler and his companion Catherine Bates of Thompson; Christine Mailloux and her companion Mark Bochenski of New Port Richey, FL; Judy Deschamps and her husband Joseph of Danielson; uncles and aunts Phyllis Barton of Burrillville, RI; Kenneth Barton and his wife Alice of Chepachet, RI; David Barton and his wife Maryann of Danielson; Robert Barton and his wife Mary of N. Grosvenordale, his beloved nieces and nephews Jessica Cutler, Steven Cutler both of Thompson; Jeffrey Mailloux and his wife Monique of Putnam; Kim Reidy and her husband Tim of Putnam; Amanda McClintock of Danielson; great nieces and nephews Hope and David Thompson of Putnam; Halie, Mackenzie and Bridgette Reidy; Jacob and Evan Mailloux. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Munyan Cemetery, Munyan and East Putnam Roads, Putnam. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Connecticut Audubon Society, 218 Day Road, Pomfret Center, CT 06259 or the Aspinock Historical Society, 208 School Street, Putnam, CT 06260.
