Fr. Le Cours was the real deal. A true priest. A man that powerfully embodied the spirit of Christ in who he was and all that he did. He was joyous, compassionate and merciful to all that he had contact with and especially those who came to him in need. I know this first hand. He was beloved by all at Immaculate Conception. Since he spoke Italian, he was in the important position of being able to bridge generations - the only priest who could do this. He could minister to everyone and everyone, young and old "got this" and loved him for it. Knowing him inspired me to go into the seminary where I met a lot of priests but soon discovered that none were such clear and direct channels of God's love as was Fr. Le Cours. To myself and many others I still know of at Immaculate, he will always be the prototype.

I'm one of the lucky ones that remembers Father LeCours from his days as pastor at Immaculate Conception in Westerly, R.I. He was such a warm, gifted and very funny man. (He always referred to me as a "Mediterranean Irishman" because of my name.) And what a gifted speaker. I still remember as if it was yesterday a very moving sermon he gave during the Christmas season.
Thank you, Father LeCours. God rest your soul.
