We got to know Carl and Mildred in 1963 when we moved to New Milford,CT from Ohio. We joined the New Milford UMC in 1964 and the Marohn family became good friends. The kids were a welcome source of baby sitters for our daughter and Carl and I spent many enjoyable hours pheasant hunting in the Fall. We had kept in touch with Carl and Mildred after Carl retired and moved from New Milford. May God's blessings be with the family at this time.

Learning of Carl's death was met with sadness and wonderful memories. I met Carl when I was transferred to the New Milford mill in 1975. We worked together until his retirement in 1982. That was a wonderful time period as the mill was growing with an experimental paper machine, diaper expansion, high rise warehouse and a rebuild of the #2 paper machine. Carl was a shift superintendent and as such helped to hold the entire operation together as we went through such an exciting period of change. Carl was a part of the "greatest generation" He came from a small town, served his country, worked hard for the same company for 42 years. Was a family man who provided for a wonderful family and gave back to his community. We lost touch after his retirement. I was pleased to read of the full life he had in retirement. It was well earned. May his children know that their father touched many lives and left a positive hand print on all. I'm sure they are very proud and my sympathy is extended to them in their loss. Sincerely, Tim Moe
