Obituary of Michael F. Curran

Michael F. Curran, age 61, of Lakeview Drive, Woodstock, CT formerly of Dudley, MA died Friday at home, after a short term battle with brain cancer tumor. He was the beloved husband of Eileen (Buksar) Curran, they were married February 12, 1966 in ST Anthony of Padua Church in Dudley, MA. He was born June 7, 1943 in Southbridge, MA son of the late Joseph A. and Dorothy (Fleming) Curran. Mike was a Facility Manager at University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT, a position he held with great satisfaction and love for 23 years. He has made his home in Woodstock, CT since June 1991, a communicant of Most Holy Trinity Church, Routes 169 and 44, Pomfret, CT. He was an avid fisherman, down hill skier, water skier and enjoyed playing golf, horseback riding and hunting deer in Maine;he served on the Board of Directors of the Bunggee Lake Association for several years. He also was Boy Scout leader and a soccer coach. Mike will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He leaves in addition to his wife, a son Keith M. Curran of Woodstock, a daughter Brenda M. Charvat and her husband James, a grandson Jacob James Charvat of Kernersville, NC, a brother David Curran of TN, a sister-in-law, Janice B. Brady, nephew Craig Brady and wife Kelly, children, Derek, Jason, Zachary all of Dudley, MA, niece, Jacquelyn Plumb and husband Joshua of Worcester, MA, a brother-in-law, Andrew J. Buksar, Jr. and his wife Diane of Milford, MA, and a nephew Andrew J. Buksar, III, nieces, Ann Marie Buksar, Sherry Buksar The funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 AM from the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Holy Trinity Church, Routes 169 and 44, Pomfret at 11:00 AM. Calling Hours will be Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial in Elmvale Cemetery, Woodstock, CT.
