I had the distinct pleasure of meeting "Tug",He was a cut above, and a pleasure to be around. He is missed by all who knew him. There is an emptiness in all the "Village People". "Tug" was rare indeed.Sail on,Tug,sail on.

Bill Reid posted a condolence
To the family and friends of Jim Braaten:
I first met Jim when he moved to Woodstock in 2000. He was a true Yankees fan that somehow tolerated the Red Sox fans that frequented his favorite watering hole -- the Village Lounge.
I always enjoyed hearing about his latest travels (by boat of course)and his adventures on the open sea. We will remember his booming voice shaped and tempered by Atlantic gales, his firm handshake strengthened from a life of work on the ocean, and the ready smile of a wonderful human. God Speed oh Captain and may the winds be at your back.....
