Dick was a dear friend. Our classrooms at the old Middle School were next to each other. He would lighten up the teaching day with his words of wisdom and humor. He was a dedicated educator and made sure his students were well- mannered and reached their potential. He will be greatly missed.

I've had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Richard every Saturday for the past three years as a cash office employee at Stop and Shop in Dayville, CT. Richard would come in shopping every Saturday without fail, and he would often ask me about my education at UCONN, among other things. He was always such a kind and patient man toward me, and he is certainly someone that i will never forget. I'm going to miss seeing him pull into the parking lot in that red Cadillac every week. The thoughts and prayers of the entire stop and shop cash office crew, as well as everyone in the store that had the pleasure of meeting Richard, are with his family.

Mary and Barbara,
I am so saddened to hear of Dick's passing. He was a good friend to everyone. I remember the laughs we would have with him and Marie Wetherall my first years teaching, I bet they're up there now giggling. Love to both of you. Katy Boussquet

I went to Putnam High School with Richard graduating in 1954. He always was a very kind caring person. A very quiet class-mate, never a harsh word said about any-one. A true gentleman. He will be sadly missed
