Richard L. Sochor, 69, of Providence Pike, Putnam, died unexpectedly July 4, 2005 at his home. He was born April 20, 1936 in Putnam, son of the late Albert and Mary (Polivka) Sochor. Richard was a teacher for over thirty two years with the Putnam School System. He taught special education for twenty five years and reading for seven years, retiring in 1990. He was a graduate of the Eastern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s Degree and received his Master’s Degree from the University of Connecticut. Richard made his home in Putnam all his life; he had great interest in genealogy, photography, automobiles, art and painting and a friend to animals. He will be remembered as a loving and caring brother. He leaves his sisters: Mary S. Child of Putnam; Barbara J Sochor of Storrs; also many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a brother: Frank Sochor. Richard will be sadly missed by all who knew him. There are no services; interment will be in Grove Street Cemetery, Putnam.
